Block Imaging, Holt, Mich, has launched a new online training course for radiology technologists, as well as biomedical and service engineers. The site is designed to be a growing library of courses that help medical personnel expand their skills and help employers meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance standards. Courses are delivered in concise video segments followed by online testing and certification.
Now available for purchase, Radiation Safety Training 101 is a tutorial in best practices to protect personnel from exposure to harmful radiation levels. Additional courses are under development and will become available periodically. Some upcoming courses include “Bloodborne Pathogens Safety,” “Bone Densitometer Installation,” and “OEC 9800 C-Arm Service.”
“For people to have access to this training anywhere and be able to complete it at their own pace will be a significant time saver for employees and employers alike,” said Trish Payne, Block Imaging’s training and technical development manager. “Calling a full staff meeting to try and renew a whole company’s blood borne pathogen or radiation safety certifications in a single lunch hour will be a thing of the past.”
The training homepage can be found at training.blockimaging.com. Visitors can also sign up for advance notification of new course launches.
