The medical imaging company is expanding its spectral X-ray technology into two Southeast Asian healthcare markets through new local partnerships.
KA Imaging has received regulatory approvals in Thailand and Singapore for its Reveal 35C detector, enabling the medical imaging company to commercialize its spectral X-ray platform in two Southeast Asian healthcare markets.
The approvals, granted by the Thailand Food and Drug Administration and the Health Sciences Authority of Singapore, allow the Ontario-based company to expand access to its single-exposure spectral X-ray technology across the Asia-Pacific region.
The Reveal 35C detector utilizes SpectralDR technology, which simultaneously produces standard digital radiography, soft tissue, and bone images from a single X-ray exposure. By separating anatomical structures during image acquisition, the technology provides clinicians with additional information alongside a conventional radiograph, according to a press release from KA Imaging.
“Thailand and Singapore are important healthcare markets and key parts of our strategy for expanding access to SpectralDR technology throughout Asia-Pacific,” says Amol Karnick, CEO of KA Imaging, in a release. “These regulatory approvals mark another milestone in our international growth and reflect increasing demand for advanced imaging solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing clinical workflows.”
In Thailand, the approval allows local partner BJC Healthcare to distribute the detector across the country. In Singapore, the company’s local partner, Eye-2-Eye Communications Pte Ltd, will commercialize and distribute the technology to healthcare providers.

The expansion into Southeast Asia follows other recent regulatory milestones for the company. In recent months, the spectral X-ray technology became available in Colombia, received a registration certificate in Pakistan, and launched as a mobile X-ray system in Hong Kong.
Reveal 35C systems are currently deployed in hospitals, mobile imaging programs, and global health initiatives around the world, including programs supporting tuberculosis visualization in Kenya and Nigeria, according to the company.
