June 8, 2007—Fujifilm Medical Systems USA Inc, Stamford, Conn, announced yesterday that it has been selected by Altru Health System, Grand Forks, ND, to complete Altru’s transition from film to digital x-ray.
Fujifilm developed a custom solution for Altru, which has installed three of the company’s Dual SpeedSuite DR systems in its flagship hospital. Altru also purchased 12 FCR Carbon systems, designed to implement a distributed workflow throughout the facility and eliminate the need for technologists to transport cassettes.
"Digital radiography is all about improving workflow, and Fujifilm’s Dual SpeedSuite offered us the best value when compared to other DR products on the market," said Steve Metcalf, manager of radiology services at Altru. "Fujifilm has a long history of expertise in digital x-ray. Their experienced team was able to readily assess our needs and recommend an ideal solution with the right mix of products."
