Converting from X-ray to DR can be a time-consuming, disruptive process. But thanks to Carestream Health, it doesn’t have to be.
The CARESTREAM DRX-Mobile Retrofit Kit will allow selected mobile x-ray systems to be upgraded to the company’s wireless DRX-1 technology. The cassette-sized detector can be installed quickly, allowing users to capture images in seconds at the point of care. The images can then be forwarded to multiple clinicians, speeding diagnosis, improving patient care, and boosting staff productivity.
According to a company press release, the DRX-1 technology improves patient positioning and comfort by eliminating cables and tethers typically required by most DR-based systems. This makes it ideal for tight spaces and remote locations in addition to emergency rooms, operating rooms, and the ICU.
The retrofit kit is currently available for the following systems: GE AMX-4, GE AMX-4 Plus, Siemens Mobilett Plus, Siemens Mobilett XP, and Siemens Mobilett XP Hybrid. Carestream expects to add more systems to this list in the near future. The retrofit kit is slated for a summer release.
