Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, of Portland, Ore. today announced its investment in the world’s most advanced neurosurgical imaging system IMRISneuro, a fully integrated operating room from Canadian surgical imaging solutions firm IMRIS.
Combining a one-of-a-kind movable MRI with the IMRISmatrix surgical information management system, the intra-operative suite allows surgeons to safely image patients in the operating room during brain surgery. Delivery and clinical use of the system is scheduled for early 2009.
Providence St. Vincent will be the first medical center on the West Coast – and one of only 17 in the world — to house this technology.
