The VitreaView universal viewer from Vital Images, Inc, a Toshiba Medical Systems company, will be featured in a live study at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in Orlando. Shafiq Rab, MD, vice president and chief information officer at Hackensack University Medical Center will highlight the system during the Interoperability showcase on February 25.

Universal viewers have grown in significance over the last year because of their ability to provide comprehensive medical information and images across various healthcare systems. VitreaView enables physicians to access images integrated into existing technologies such as electronic medical records (EMR), electronic health records (EHR) or through Health Information Exchanges (HIE). The VitreaView user interface also provides access to DICOM and non-DICOM patient imaging across multiple technologies and databases.
