Central DuPage Hospital, of Chicago, has received Illinois state approval on its plans to build a comprehensive outpatient cancer treatment and imaging center in Warrenville, Ill.

Construction is slated to begin in late spring of this year and the new center is expected to open its doors to patients by summer of 2010.

Service offerings will include on-site oncology pharmacists, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, as well as support services such as diagnostic imaging, nutritional counseling, social work services, genetic counseling, and image-renewal services.

Support groups, patient education and prevention programs, research and community outreach activities will also be available at the center.
