Front-Sensing Color LCDs from Double Black Imaging

Double Black Imaging (Westminster, Colo) has released the M series-2-megapixel (MP) and 3-MP color LCDs featuring an electronic front sensor that emerges from the bezel then retracts when DICOM grayscale calibration is complete. The displays also have integrated backlight sensors that ensure consistency and minimize fluctuations in brightness caused by internal and environmental temperatures. The M series comes with the LumiCal software and hardware combination for auto-calibration.

Workstation and Reading-Room Accessories from eisys

Designed for radiologist comfort, eisys inc (Birmingham, Ala) has released an adjustable footrest (top) and a rail-mounted light fixture (bottom). The footrest is secured to the workstation to prevent sliding and can be lifted easily to move from a sitting to a standing position. The dimmable fluorescent light provides critical indirect ambient lighting in the radiology reading room, and it prevents glare and reflections when placed behind monitors and directed toward a wall or ceiling.

Digital-Viewing Workstation from Maxant

Maxant (Niles, Ill) has introduced MediPort, a digital-viewing workstation that combines the space-saving construction and easy access of a wall-mounted film viewer with the functionality of digital. MediPort can save space and fit into most environments with a wall or recess mount. Featuring a pop-up keyboard with a trackball or an optional mouse, the system is easy to operate and can serve as a clinical review station or a diagnostic workstation. Also, MediPort works with up to four displays available in 1.3-MP color, 2-MP grayscale, or 3-MP grayscale. The system can be combined with Maxant’s Tech Line Illuminators for an integrated digital/analog workstation.
