Alliance Imaging Inc, of Newport Beach, Calif., recently announced that it has acquired Shared P.E.T. Imaging, LLC, of Canton, Ohio, for approximately $43 million in cash and assumed indebtedness.

Shared P.E.T. Imaging, a mobile and fixed-site provider of positron emission tomography/computed tomography, currently generates approximately $29 million of annual revenue. The business serves approximately 90 clients in thirteen states, including Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Florida, Pennsylvania, New York, Tennessee and South Carolina.

Alliance Imaging, a national provider of shared-service and fixed-site diagnostic imaging services, aims to continue with a “disciplined acquisition plan,” according to board chairman and chief executive officer Paul S. Viviano.

“Alliance believes that the expansion of PET/CT’s critical role in cancer detection and related treatment planning will result in continued overall growth in patient procedures,” Viviano continued.
