Agfa HealthCare has announced the launch of its Enterprise Imaging for Cardiology Suite, along with a strategic relationship with TomTec to provide a unified cardiology diagnostic and clinical imaging solution. The new solution will be showcased at the American College of Cardiology 2015 meeting March 14-16, 2015 in San Diego.
“The combination of Agfa HealthCare and TomTec’s long-term expertise in cardiology IT has allowed us to design an imaging platform that provides the services and task-based workflows hospitals require,” said Gregor Malischnig, chief marketing officer, TomTec Imaging Systems. “We believe this synergy offers the potential to revolutionize image management within cardiology and beyond.”
Agfa HealthCare Enterprise Imaging is a standards-based platform designed to enable sharing of patient health data across departments within a single facility or across multiple facilities, including hospital groups, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), or public and private health information exchanges (HIEs). The system supports the exchange of patient records containing both images and text.
Enterprise Imaging for Cardiology integrates TomTec’s imageanalysis and review platform without requiring the deployment or configuration of separate services. Clinicians can perform their work in one session, eliminating the need to involve different departments, workstations, and systems.
“The Agfa Enterprise Imaging Suite provides hospitals and networks with a long-term, value-based diagnostic clinical imaging solution that improves collaboration across disciplines, reduces costs and increases operational efficiency,” said James Jay, global vice president of Imaging IT for Agfa HealthCare. “This is not a PACS with a new name or a VNA trying to claim it has workflow; Agfa HealthCare has changed the game with a system designed to really tackle imaging at the enterprise level.”
