Philips Healthcare, Andover, Mass, and Microsoft Corp, Redmond, Wash, are teaming up to build a healthcare informatics platform and advanced clinical decision support products. The companies intend to build new software that will drive efficiency and effectiveness at the point of care, while reducing development and infrastructure costs.
One of the first products to come out of the Philips-Microsoft collaboration is Philips VISICU eICU Program, an integrated healthcare solution for remote, 24-hour monitoring of critically ill patients, which was recently demonstrated at HIMSS10.
The eICU Program creates a standardized front-end analytics portal to display information from the program’s database, enabling health care executives to view, share and analyze ICU data relating to their health system’s operations.
