Advanced Data Systems (ADS) introduces MedicsConnect, a tool that automatically transmits radiology reports to referring physicians in a vendor agnostic HL7 format compatible with any electronic health record (EHR) system. The new technology eliminates the need for multiple, customized HL7 interfaces — a potential cost savings of tens of thousands of dollars. Working within a radiology information system (RIS), the application transmits reports over the Internet to a medical practice’s static IP address using secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) to ensure data safety. Referring physicians can configure their EMRs to automatically download the data to the appropriate patient file.
