The U.S. FDA has updated mammography regulations under the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) to require facilities to notify patients about breast density, strengthen enforcement, and assist interpreting physicians in evaluating mammograms to improve breast cancer detection, with the changes to be implemented within 18 months.
