A multidisciplinary team at Washington University plans to overcome the limitations of studying and manipulating the brain's depth by integrating ultrasound with genetics, leading to a method called Sonogenetics 2.0 that has the potential to noninvasively and precisely modify neurons in the brains of humans and animals.
