The American College of Radiology (ACR) Accreditation is updating their pricing—new prices will go into effect on July 1, 2023. According to the college, the pricing updates are for security, usability and efficiency, and for most modalities, this will reportedly be the first fee change in a decade.
According to the ACR, the college is working toward Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST ) certification, implementing controls to protect sensitive information, including a more secure login process with multi-factor authentication.
These updates build on the new ACR Accreditation system that launched in 2022, and an updated ACR Accreditation website will include newer features to simplify the accreditation process for users, leaders of ACR shared.
It has been reported that fees will increase approximately 9% for all modalities except for mammography and radiation oncology. Breast MRI accreditation will become a module under the larger MRI accreditation program, lowering the cost to sites.
When a single practice site location applies for three or more modalities (excluding mammography), it will receive a 10% discount on the final calculated fee for that site. In addition, leaders say that the ACR offers multi-site, multi-unit pricing discounts for large practices.
